My Children’s Hospital Experience & Extra Life Decision

I’m going to take a break from game/industry posting today and get a little serious and personal. I’ve recently signed up to participate in the Extra Life charity drive for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, and though I don’t know what I’ll be doing for “the marathon”, I do know that I will be playing for St. Louis Children’s Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. I had a brief, if scary brush with this hospital a few years ago and the experience has been with me ever since.

To Sleep, Perchance to Stream

I’m still not sure I really get the whole craze of watching other people play video games on YouTube and Twitch streams. My spare time is usually devoured by actually playing games (or blogging/podcasting about them), and consumption of video takes more careful attention than, say, a podcast or audio talk show. Nevertheless, I’ve created my fair share of video content in order to experience the creation process and to see if there is any potential┬áto interact with an audience that otherwise wouldn’t be exposed to my blog posts or podcast.
