#NBI2015Safari: A Shadow in Skyrim

This is not a screenshot blog. In fact, I don’t think I’ve ever posted a screenshot that wasn’t somehow relevant to or that enhanced the written post at large. It’s not that I don’t like screenshots, it just doesn’t usually occur to me to put one up and let it stand on it’s own. For the Newbie Blogger Initiative this year, Murf has thrown down the screenie gauntlet in the form of his “screenshot safari”. It’s a competition of sorts, so if you’re interested in the rules, I’d encourage you to head over to his post for clarification.

I’m submitting this Skyrim screenshot under the category of “selfie”. I happened to catch this one last night just after taking down the blood dragon lying behind me. The serene setting is in stark contrast to the battle that has just occurred, and I can imagine my character slipping away into the fog to the right as confused villagers, awakened by the crash of the dragon’s body, begin to arrive at the scene. The dragonborn doesn’t want any credit, he just wants the foul beasts dead.

I always loved the areas of the map where you could see these lights. It adds such a peaceful note to what can often be a pretty violent, bloody affair.

This is such a beautiful game – it’s almost hard to NOT get a great screenshot!
